Spring Cleanup time!

I'm trying to settle on a date for the first annual King's Park spring cleanup. The snow is reluctant to go this year - as a neighbour pointed out this morning, we have now officially endured 6 months of snow.

The timing of the cleanup is tricky - we want it to be cold enough to pick up all of the unwanted "gifts" deposited over the winter, but we don't want it to be so cold that we miss several buried layers.

I was originally thinking that April 13 might be a good day, but with the forecast calling for continued cold right until the weekend, I'm wondering if I should gamble and try for April 20.

I guess I'll have to put it to a vote!

Off-Leash Under Siege?

Did you know that Winnipeg's dog parks are shrinking or even closing? The City of Winnipeg is nibbling away at off-leash areas by repurposing the land for other uses. There is very little consultation and no transparency.
