Looney Tunes

The conjunction of the full moon and nice weather seems to have brought out one of the park's resident loonies, a man who has been heard to declare that he wants all dogs out of the park.

This week Mr. Looney Tunes got on his skis and attacked one of park regulars (and coincidentally a member of the newly-formed King's Park Dog Association (KPDA)). Our group member was standing at the side of the path with his dogs, waiting for this individual to go by when the Mr. L.T.  deliberately aimed for them, clipping the dog owner in the process.

Mr L.T.  is known to many of us for his harassment of dog owners in the park over the last few years. He has escalated from yelling at people he encounters to deliberately targeting them and their dogs for assault. His preferred vehicle of attack is his bicycle, but he's changed to skis so he can engage in seasonally appropriate harassment. To my knowledge this is the first time he's actually hit someone.

Mr. L.T. was spoken to by the police about his actions after some incidents in the fall. He stopped for a while, but now that the weather is nice he seems to have decided to begin again.

What to do?
Use caution while walking on the paved pathways. He likes coming up behind to startle you; when he's on his bike he will increase speed and aim for you. He has a particular hatred of off-leash dogs but will also go for dogs on leash. He has been known to come to the off-leash area to harass people there. In the fall both he and his wife were seen taking photos of dog walkers in the off-leash area and in the parking lot. Mrs. L.T. is equally unpleasant but leaves the physical attacks to her husband.

He's a heavy-set man in his late 50s or early 60s, balding with a grey buzzcut, and speaks with an Eastern European accent.

If you have any encounters with him, please call the police general dispatch number at 986-6222 and ask the officers taking the report to consult with Sergeant Roger Girard in District 6, who has been working on the case since the fall.
